Join Our Team
Thank you for your interest in the Bama Baby Lab! Our lab supports representative science, and we strive to create a welcoming space where people can bring their whole selves to work. We invite all interested individuals to apply to be undergraduate researchers, doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, or research staff.
Prospective Doctoral Students
We welcome applications this fall from students who are interested in pursuing a PhD with a focus on infant development, both in neurotypical infants and infants with autism. Students may apply to either the Developmental Psychology or the Clinical Psychology program. If our research interests are a good fit, please email Kelsey directly at klwest7@ua.edu with the subject line "PhD application inquiry". It's helpful (but not required) if you include:
— a brief description of your research interests
— a PDF of your CV/resume
— which program you are interested in (developmental or clinical)
Undergraduate Researchers:
Through an apprenticeship-style experience, undergraduate researchers gain firsthand knowledge about research on infant learning in laboratory and naturalistic settings. Students will experience every aspect of the research process, including participant recruitment, data collections, data analysis, literature reviews, and dissemination of study findings through papers and presentations.
If you are interested, please fill out the application form (or use QR code). Depending on current lab needs, we may follow up to schedule an informal interview, give you a tour of the lab, answer your questions about our research, and help you to determine whether our lab or another lab is the best fit for your time and interests.
